Cabbage Potato Vegetable to Baked Sesame Patties

Last night was my wedding anniversary. I had prepared my husband’s favourite dish for dinner-cabbage potato vegetable curry. Although he loves the dish, I and kids are not very fond of it. He is a huge fan of aloo, whereas my all-time favourite vegetable is paneer. This is a source of frequent clashes in our home. So I had to think of a way of ensuring mutual satisfaction and I prepared this curry on our auspicious day. But that day he had his plans and he arranged a surprised dinner for the family.

But next day morning, I had to struggle with a big bowl of cabbage curry in my fridge. This was just impossible for me to serve this in breakfast. The only option left with me to prepare something new and delicious with this curry.

I used left over vegetable to prepare baked sesame patties. In this recipe, I have combined cottage cheese (paneer) with the mashed vegetable. Bread crumbs have been incorporated into the mixture as they act as binding agent. Chopped onion (pyaaz) has also been used along with some spices. These spices can be added according to taste. This mixture is rolled into the shape of small round patties and sprinkled with sesame seeds (safed til), which is very good for health. The oven is pre-heated to the correct temperature beforehand. The patties are slightly greased and cooked in the oven. They taste delicious with green chutney, tamarind chutney or tomato ketchup.
