Garlic prawns

Ingredients

 

Prawns (Chingri) 8- 10 pieces
Garlic leaves (lahsan ke patte), chopped  (optional) 2 table spoon
Garlic (lahsan) paste 1 tea spoon
Garlic, finely chopped 1 table spoon
Onions, finely chopped 2 table spoon
Vinegar (sirka) 1 table spoon
Soya sauce 1 tea spoon
Black pepper (kali mirch), powder ½  tea spoon
Chilli flakes (Kuti  lal mirch) ½  tea spoon
Sugar (chini) 1 tea spoon
Salt (Namak) to taste
Corn flour 1 tea spoon
Vegetable Oil (tel) 3 table spoon

Method

  • 1. De-vein and wash the prawns and keep aside.
  • 2. Make a mixture of garlic paste, salt and black pepper and marinate the prawns with this mixture.
  • 3. Sprinkle little corn flour over the marinated prawn and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  • 4. Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated prawns and stir it for 5-7 minutes and keep aside.
  • 5. In same pan add onion and saute it over high heat till it becomes transparent.
  • 6. Add the chopped garlic and garlic leaves (if using) and saute it for 1 minute.
  • 7. Now in a bowl mix soya sauce, vinegar, chilly flakes, sugar and salt with ½ cup of water and pours this in pan and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • 8. Now add fried prawns, and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • 9. Meanwhile, in a bowl mix 1 tea spoon of corn flour with 3-4 table spoon of water and pour this into prawn.
  • 10. Let it simmer for 2 more minutes and put the flame off and serve this with fried rice or noodles.
