Salt-Fish Balls

Ingredients

Dried Mackerels (or any other dried fish) 250 grams
Water 2 cups
Onion (payaz), chopped 1 cup
Garlic (lahsan), crushed 2 table spoons
Green chillies (hari mirch), chopped 2 table spoons
Eggs (anda) 1
Egg (anda), beaten 1
Potatoes (aalo) 500 grams
Black Pepper (kali mirch) 1 tea spoon
Salt (namak) To taste
Rice flour (chawal ka aata) 4-5 table spoons
Vegetable oil For frying

Instructions

  1. Soak fish overnight in water.
  2. Next day, boil the fish in same water for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove all the bones after draining the fish and mince the fish.
  4. Now mix all the ingredients together except the beaten egg, rice flour and oil.
  5. Now make small balls with the dough, and dip into beaten egg.
  6. Then dust them with rice flour.
  7. Heat oil on medium flame and deep fry the balls.
  8. Serve hot with sauce or chutney.
