Salt-Fish Balls

Ingredients

Dried Mackerels (or any other dried fish) 250 grams
Water 2 cups
Onion (payaz), chopped 1 cup
Garlic (lahsan), crushed 2 table spoons
Green chillies (hari mirch), chopped 2 table spoons
Eggs (anda) 1
Egg (anda), beaten 1
Potatoes (aalo) 500 grams
Black Pepper (kali mirch) 1 tea spoon
Salt (namak) To taste
Rice flour (chawal ka aata) 4-5 table spoons
Vegetable oil For frying

Method

  • 1. Soak fish overnight in water.
  • 2. Next day, boil the fish in same water for 15 minutes.
  • 3. Remove all the bones after draining the fish and mince the fish.
  • 4. Now mix all the ingredients together except the beaten egg, rice flour and oil.
  • 5. Now make small balls with the dough, and dip into beaten egg.
  • 6. Then dust them with rice flour.
  • 7. Heat oil on medium flame and deep fry the balls.
  • 8. Serve hot with sauce or chutney.
